A teenage boy was arrested over accusations that he raped two girls on separate occasions.

Nhel Mark Anas, 19, was nabbed at his home in Barangay Guintas, Leganes, Iloilo morning of March 22, 2022.

Members of Leganes Police Station and PNP Regional Intelligence Division (RID)-6 served two arrest warrants to Anas.

The first case for violation of Article 266-A of the Revised Penal Code as amended by Republic Act 8353 (The Anti-Rape Law of 1997) was docketed as Criminal Case No. 21-86818. The warrant was issued Oct. 4, 2021.

He was also accused of the same offense in CC Numbers 21-87008, 21-87009, 21-87010, 21-87011 and 21-87012. The arrest warrant for the cases was issued on Dec. 7, 2021.

Judge Nelson Jiz Bartolome of the Regional Trial Court 6 (RTC-6) Branch 32, Iloilo City disallowed Anas to post bail for all charges.

Anas is listed as Leganes’ No. 2 most wanted person,

Master Sergeant Jhonrey Laru-an, Leganes PNP investigator, said the incidents allegedly happened in 2019 when the suspect was still a minor.

In the first case, the complainant was also a minor.

In the four other rape charges, the suspect was charged along with four other suspects.

Anas was aware of the charges against him and has been in hiding until he recently turned himself in to barangay authorities.

But he denied the accusations hurled against him.

Anas is now detained and will be presented to the court that issued his arrest warrants.
