Teen killed, uncle injured in Sta. Barbara stabbing

A teenager and his uncle were stabbed in a commotion inside a KTV bar in Sta. Barbara, Iloilo on June 9, 2019.

But 17-year-old Kent Brix Trojillo, a resident of Barangay Tigtig, Sta. Barbara, did not survive the attack. He was declared dead on arrival at Western Visayas Sanitarium due to three stab injuries on the left side of his chest, abdomen, and arm.

His uncle, 41-year-old Oliver Trojillo, was wounded on his neck, thigh, and arm.

According to police reports, the victims were with some other relatives at D’Docks KTV bar when a fracas ensued around 12:05 a.m. Sunday.

They were waiting for their drinks when Kent Brix’s male cousin was punched by one of the suspects.

The stabbing episode then followed.

Chief Master Sergeant Jesus Wilson Saludares, deputy chief of Sta. Barbara police chief, said a hot pursuit operation was done after the incident but the suspects quickly escaped.

They remain at-large as of this writing.
