As the National Basketball Training Center league finished day 4 of its games, there was a noticeable uptick in urgency among the teams. Sensing the playoffs looming, the matches in the Pandaraonan gym, Nueva Valencia, Guimaras got tougher and tougher as the week progressed.
Six games were featured in the fourth day and it was a mixed matchup from the two brackets of the tournament.
In the opening game, Jordan National High School demolished the squad from St. Joseph School Hijas De Jesus with a score of 69-54, followed by a nip-and-tuck slugfest between the Simeon J. Jabasa NHS and the Good Sheperd’s Fold Inc. where GSFI prevailed, 64-62.
Next games featured a convincing victory by the boys from Cabalagnan NHS against Agsanayan NHS, 79-52, followed by Nueva Valencia’s spoiling of previous day’s MVP Clarence Gabito and his squad, Buenavista NHS, 79-87.
The Trinidad V. Canja-Sta. Teresa NHS got their stride and earned a win against the Philippine College of Business and Accountancy, 77-62, and the last game was a sweeping victory by the Dr. Catalino G. Nava HS against East Valencia NHS, 76-61.
