The PLDT High Speed Hitters looked even more formidable after former Sta. Lucia Realtors superstar Mika Reyes decided to reinforce the team for the upcoming 2022 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) Open Conference.

After almost a month, the former Philippine women’s volleyball team middle blocker finally made a decision and boosted the chances of the High Speed Hitters of a bounce back season.

“Unang-una, siyempre malaking factor yung team composition kasi PLDT was looking for middles. Tapos out of all teams that made an offer, sila Sir Bajjie Del Rosario, ang talagang naramdaman ko who really wants me,” Reyes said.

Aside from teaming up again with former Sta. Lucia teammates Dell Palomata and Jovy Prado, Reyes also setup a grand reunion with Rhea Dimaculangan, her former teammate in Petron where they won three titles together in the Philippine Superliga (PSL).

Reyes and Dimaculangan became two of the main stabilizers of Petron during their reign in the PSL from 2017-2019.

“After three years, magkakasama na kami muli at mas madami na na-experience namin now,” said the decorated middle blocker.

Reyes will join Kath Arado, Jessey De Leon, Mean Mendrez, Wendy Semana, Fiola Ceballos, Lhara Clavano, Jules Samonte, Heather Guino-o, Palomata, and Prado as the newest recruits of PLDT.

The team will also be playing under a new head coach in George Pascua who took over the post of the legendary Roger Gorayeb who mentored the team for eight years.
