SOCIAL TECH CONVERSATIONS: Technology moving social progress

By Noreen Marian Bautista

In shaping our vision of Iloilo’s future, technology is a necessary element of progress. In that light, Global Shapers has been ever supportive of innovating the technological infrastructure of Iloilo City.

Oracle NetSuite, in collaboration with Global Shapers Iloilo conducted a gathering of for-impact organizations (non-profits, social enterprises, schools, associations, etc) to discuss the use of technology like Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems to optimize organizational effectiveness.

It was also an avenue for Oracle NetSuite to showcase their pro-bono social impact program where they donate needed software to eligible social impact organizations in the Philippines.

This software was further showcased through a case study done by GK Enchanted Farm, a social enterprise incubator and farm village university in Angat, Bulacan. Gina Valdez, CFO of GK Enchanted Farm, talked on how they used the software for their operations.

Global Shapers Iloilo Inc., as a non-profit youth-led organization, is the first grantee in Iloilo for the Oracle NetSuite Social Impact program.

“We are hoping to see more grantees of the software in Iloilo, soon! Hopefully from the attendees today”, says, Nathan Agngaray, a representative of the Oracle NetSuite Social Impact Program.

Thank you Oracle NetSuite for being a part of our vision for Iloilo!
