According to Police Lieutenant Jonito Pastrana, deputy commander of Police Station 2, the 66-year-old man broke the glass window of the wardroom using a stool when his watcher left him to buy medicines.

Pastrana said the elderly man was recovering from a surgery when the incident happened.

The man, whose name was withheld, died on the spot, the deputy station commander said.

Pastrana said the victim was suffering from depression, according to his family.

“Basi bala naluoy na siya sa iya pamilya nga amo na gamasakit pa siya,” he added.
