Senior citizen jumps to death in hospital

A senior citizen died after he jumped from the window of a ward in Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital (CLMMRH) here last Saturday.

According to Police Lieutenant Jonito Pastrana, deputy commander of Police Station 2, the 66-year-old man broke the glass window of the wardroom using a stool when his watcher left him to buy medicines.

Pastrana said the elderly man was recovering from a surgery when the incident happened.

The man, whose name was withheld, died on the spot, the deputy station commander said.

Pastrana said the victim was suffering from depression, according to his family.

“Basi bala naluoy na siya sa iya pamilya nga amo na gamasakit pa siya,” he added.

In January this year, a coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) patient also jumped from the same building due to depression.
