Senior citizen facing rape charge nabbed

ROXAS CITY, Capiz – A 60-year-old man charged for rape was arrested Tuesday afternoon, June 21, at his house in Brgy. Poblacion Sur, Ivisan, Capiz.

Police Captain Gregg Anthony V. Salbang, Ivisan police chief, together with Capiz Police Provincial Office Anti-Criminality Riders under Police Lt.  Roel Bereña served the warrant of arrest against Aben Diego Bautista.

The suspect did not resist when the police served the warrant issued by Judge Faustino Roxas Jr. of the Regional Trial Court Branch 14 in Roxas City on June 20, 2022.

The suspect is charged for two counts of rape, attempted rape and violation of anti-child abuse law.

While he was not allowed to post bail for the rape charge, Bautista was allowed to post P120,000 for the attempted rape case and P200,000 for violation of anti-child abuse law.

Bautista is considered the No. 2 most wanted person in the town. He is presently detained at Ivisan police station.
