BACOLOD City – A security guard allegedly killed a fellow guard at Barangay RSB, La Carlota City, Negros Occidental last Monday.

Police identified the victim as Randy Mondia, 32, of Barangay Pacol, Bago City.

Lieutenant Colonel Jonel Guadalupe, city police chief, said Mondia, who was reportedly drunk that night, allegedly challenged suspect Noel Morio, 40, of Barangay Gil Montilla, Sipalay City, to a fistfight at their barracks.

Morio declined, but Mondia insisted and allegedly punched the former on the nape, prompting the former to retaliate.

Armed with a knife, Morio allegedly repeatedly stabbed Mondia’s shoulder, left arm and abdomen.

Mondia was declared dead on arrival at a hospital.

“Matagal na daw kasi na binubully ng suspect iyong victim pero hindi niya pinapansin, until nung gabi na iyon na parang prepared ang victim makipag-away kaso may weapon pala ang suspect,” Guadalupe said.

Guadalupe said that homicide charges were already filed against the suspect who was arrested by the police.

The weapon used in the crime was also recovered.

“Pareho silang off duty at dapat may pupuntahan ang suspect pero nangyari iyon,” he said.
