SBP CHAIRMAN’S CUP 2019: Passi City survives PAREF-Westbridge

DRIBBLERS of Passi City, Iloilo notched their second straight win in the SBP Chairman’s Cup 2019 U15 category at the expense of PAREF-Westbridge School (PWS), 57-54, during their clash at the Hua Siong College of Iloilo (HSCI)-Ledesco gym, May 22, 2019. 

After reeling from an opening game loss, Passi City survived the spirited PAREF-Westbridge in the dying seconds of the last canto.

With both teams trying to improve their respective cards in the tournament, Passi City relied on Hinze Paul Drilon’s game-winning basket.

Drilon paced the winners with 26 points, while teammate Louise Raphael Uy added 8 markers.

Passi City (2 wins and 1 loss) suffered its first defeat to Colegio dela Purisima Concepcion (CPC), 73-47.

But they regained the momentum in the second match with a convincing victory over Assumption Passi, 72-49.

But Passi City’s U12 team was not as fortunate as they bowed to PAREF-Westbridge, 55-35. The team was led by Chry Lebron Lorca who finished the game with 13 points.

Ethan Oraa, on the other hand, chipped in 8 points for PAREF-Westbridge.

Still in the U12 category, Aaron Bryan Paul Conlu was unstoppable in the court after bucketing 12 points to lift Hua Siong Red Lion Cement over Assumption Passi, 82-47.

Hua Siong continued their streak with 4 wins and a loss, behind top seed CPC with 6 wins already.

John Paul Tabieros led Pavia, Iloilo in dominating  Colegio de San Jose (CSJ) 61-26.

Iloilo Central Elementary School (ICES) Hunters upset Oton Templars, 69-50. Kier Enzo Naaman top scored with 24 points to improve the Hunters record to 5 wins and a loss.
