BACOLOD City – San Carlos City, Negros Occidental and some residents received various aids early this year.
The local government of San Carlos received 1,000 Red Tilapia fingerlings and 20 giant Bamboo propagules from the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist (OPA).
Peoples Park Management Office head Dr. Archiles Ponferrada said that the tilapia will serve as decorative fish in a pond called “Ang Busay” inside the People’s Park while the bamboos will be planted to add to the greenery in the park.
Ponferrada thanked Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson through the OPA for the tilapia fingerlings and bamboo propagules.
Meanwhile, the San Carlos City Council for Youth Affairs (SCCCYA) held a gift-giving activity of school supplies, tumblers, alcohol and snacks at Balay sa Nazareth San Carlos Foundation for some 22 girls ages 10-18 years old.
Renzie Mae Tambasen, Youth Development Officer of SCCYA said that the council wanted the youth of Balay sa Nazareth to join them and avail of the programs and projects of the government designed for them that will bring the government closer to the youth.
Balay sa Nazareth acting directress Sr. Imani Kosasih was grateful for the local government thru the SCCCYA for choosing them as one of the recipients of the activity which will establish a stronger link between the LGU and the youth as well as inspire them to participate in activities of the council.
The local government of San Carlos through its City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) released financial aid to fire victims of Barangay Buluangan.
Eleven families received P9,300 each for their totally damaged houses according to CSWD Officer Cynthia Mirande as she urged the beneficiaries to use the money wisely and prioritize their essential needs especially now that they’re starting to recover from their losses. (PIA)
