The 4th edition of Sabores de Visayas – an annual gastronomic feast spearheaded by no less than Iloilo’s heritage cuisine advocate Chef Rafael “Tibong” Jardeleza and the Department of Tourism 6 – unfurled in a sold-out summer gala dinner party at the historic Nelly Garden, dahlings!

The country’s stellar chefs were on hand to feature their own special Visayan flavored cuisines.

Among the featured chefs were:

Chef Sherwin Lee, a restaurant consultant and host of GMA News TV’s “Let’s Do Lunch” weekly cooking and talk show and author of the book “So You Want to be a Chef” and a weekly column in the Philippine Star “The Baconman Cometh”;

  • Ilonggo Chef Maridel Uygongco, Iloilo’s award winning pastry chef behind Maridel’s Bakery By Louis;
  • Chef Chell Gonzalez, a finalist in the best Chef Awards 2018 Italy; chef/owner of Gallery by Chele, one of Philippine Tatler Magazine’s top 20 Restaurants; and the most Inventive Chef in 2019;
  • Chef Sandy Daza of “Foodprints” and “Casa Daza” cooking show;
  • Restaurateur and food critic Chef Rafael “Tibong” Jardeleza, the founder of Sabores de Visayas, Flavors of Western Visayas and Tabu-an Ilonggo Heritage Competition; owner of Rafael’s La Concha Del Sur and Executive Chef and Consultant of the legendary Hotel del Rio’s Cafe Del Prado.
