After a tough victory against the Vietnam duo, 21-8, 17-21, 15-3, the PH duo of Sisi Rondina and Bernadeth Pons garnered another win against Malaysia, 21-13, 21-9, to boost their semifinal seat in the 2019 Southeast Asian Games beach volleyball event.

The overpowering style of play of the PH duo enabled them to prevail against the two tough squads, and they are looking to carry the momentum and the confidence they have in the next rounds.

Dropping a set against Vietnam, the pair admitted that the SEAG level is way higher than the recently concluded 2019 Rebisco International Open.

The speed and lateral quickness that Rondina and Pons had gave them the edge against the two foes, out-maneuvering them in the sand surface that the two practiced on for months.

Despite the loss in the opener against powerhouse Indonesia in three sets, 21-18, 16-21, 15-13, Rondina and Pons are heads-up heading into the next stages.
