ROXAS CITY, Capiz – Police on Tuesday afternoon filed robbery and frustrated homicide charges against one of the four suspects that held up and shot two employees of a fuel station here.

The charges were filed against William Deocampo of Brgy. Jolongajog, Pontevedra, Capiz before the Roxas City Prosecutor’s Office.

Deocampo voluntarily surrendered to the authorities and vehemently denied involvement in the incident that occurred Monday morning.

But Deocampo was positively pinpointed as the triggerman in the hold-up incident at Sitio Homesite, Barangay Lawaan, Roxas City through the picture presented to two victims – pump boy Jovel Alparaque of Brgy. Banica and gasoline station manager Rhodora Vinson of Brgy. 11 here.

Deocampo went to the President Roxas police station after he noticed that several policemen were present at his house in Brgy. Jolongajog Pontevedra, Capiz. He was then turned over to Roxas City police station.

The police chief said Alparaque and Vinson, who were injured in the incident, are now in stable condition in a hospital here.

The two were employees of Maribert Gasoline Station in Brgy. Lawaan here and were about to deposit the company’s P1.5 million in a bank when they were robbed at gunpoint.

Police Lt. Col. Aron Palomo, Roxas City police chief, confirmed the latest development in the case in a press conference Tuesday.

Two riding-in-tandem suspects carted away some P1.5 million.

A hot pursuit operation was immediately conducted by the police based on the narration of some witnesses and security camera footage.

He said that two other suspects who served as lookouts will be included in the charges later on.

Police Col. Jerome Afuyog Jr., Capiz police director, said Deocampo is the subject of several criminal records.

Based on the Crime Incident Recording Analysis System (CIRAS), he settled a murder case and is also under probation for violation of Republic Act 10951 (Comprehensive Dangerous Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act) in Passi City, Iloilo.

Aside from this, he was also involved in a case of reckless imprudence and death threat in President Roxas, Capiz which he also settled.
