Region 6’s most wanted nabbed in Laguna

The most wanted person in Western Visayas was arrested afternoon of Feb 2, 2023 in Cabayao, Laguna.

Julito Chua Porras, Sr., who also goes by the name Julio Porras, 62, of P. Ledesma Ward, Pototan, Iloilo, was collared at Regatta South Executive Home, Barangay Niugan, Cabuyao, more than a year after he went on the run.

A former member of the Philippine Marine Corps, Porras is also the Top 9 most wanted man in Iloilo province and is listed as the most wanted person in Pototan town.

Operatives of the Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO), together with officers of the Pototan Municipal Police Station, the Regional Intelligence Unit-National Capital Region (RIU-NCR), RIU-6, Manila Police District, Dumangas MPS, IPPO-Provincial Intelligence Unit, Dumarao MPS, and Women and Children’s Protection-Luzon field unit arrested Porras for a rape case docketed as Criminal Case Numbers 22-10390 to 93.

Executive Judge Vicente Go of the Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 68 in Dumangas, Iloilo, issued the warrant on July 20, 2022.

According to reports, Porras was dishonorably discharged from the AFP. He went into hiding after the case was filed against him in 2020.

Police reports indicated that the suspect allegedly molested his teen relative on May 2020.

Porras allegedly called the complainant via her mobile phone and told her to meet him on the second floor of a newly constructed building of the town’s public market.

When she arrived, the victim claimed that the suspect forcibly pulled her, tied both her hands with a handkerchief, and sexually abused her.

The girl claimed that the suspect abused her several times.

She added that Porras threatened her not to tell anyone about it.

Porras was flown to Iloilo on Friday to face the charges against him.
