The Rotary Club of Iloilo in partnership with the Philippine Red Cross-Iloilo chapter and Department of Social Welfare and Development 4Ps program led a bloodletting activity for 4Ps beneficiaries in Iloilo on April 18, 2022.
The project aims to boost PRC’s blood supply and highlight the benefits and importance of donating blood amid the Covid-19 pandemic.
PRC-Iloilo Administrator Gilbert Valderrama said the project collected 128 blood units from the donors who are recipients of the DSWD’s conditional cash transfer program.
Nanay Elena, a 4Ps beneficiary from Iloilo City, said they were more than willing to donate blood despite the pandemic because they realized the importance of beefing up the regional blood center’s stock. She added that they will also benefit as they would have ready blood stocks if the need arises.
Mr. Valderrama thanked DSWD, the 4Ps beneficiaries, and RC Iloilo for heeding their call for more blood supply.
