ROXAS CITY, Capiz – Pres. Roxas town Mayor Receliste “Tanoy” Escolin belittled the manifesto of support that Mambusao Mayor Leodegario “Jun” Labao Jr. is boasting relative to the election of the  League of the Municipalities (LMP)-Capiz chapter.

Escolin said he does not worry if majority of mayors signed the manifesto as many of them intimated to him that they will not support Labao on election day.

“I don’t have to worry about the manifesto because the mayors that signed the said document will change their mind during the election”, Escolin said.

Reports said that Escolin is supported by incoming Gov. Esteban Evan “Nonoy” Contreras while Labao is supported by 95 to 98 percent of Capiz mayors.

According to Labao, he is not worried if Escolin has Contreras’s support because the governor will not be the one to elect the LMP president.

Labao said he tried to dissuade Escolin from running for the LMP presidency but the latter ignored him.

Escolin said he also has the support of Capiz first district Rep. Emmanuel Billones Sr. even as he woos fellow mayors.
