Qatar’s leading IT firm eyes city for resilience program

Doha-based Strategic Center for Consultancy and Technology (SCCT) has recently identified Iloilo City as a pilot area for its urban and rural risk and resilience programs.

SCCT Deputy CEO Dr. Liaqat Amin Sarri recently visited Iloilo City upon recommendation of Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) Investments Promotion Partner Joseph Timothy Rivera.

Rivera accompanied the Qatar delegation with logistics and security arrangements under the PNP Global Police Community Relations headed by GPCR Program Director General Rhodel Sermonia sa part of the PNP’s campaign to promote foreign investor confidence in the country.

Dr. Satti, along with Rivera and former Senate Consultant Winston Palma, paid a courtesy call to City Hall, particularly Councilor Love Baronda, who heads the disaster risk and reduction management committee.

PEZA Director General Charito B. Plaza also officially received the investors from Qatar headed by Dr. Satti who will also be the Country Head for SCCT in the Philippines after being approved as an IT Export Enterprise by the PEZA Board.

Rivera alongside Flores & Ofrin Law Firm were appointed facilitators of SCCT’s legal establishment in the country with their first offices opening at the Net Lima Building, a PEZA approved IT zone at the Bonifacio Global City.

SCCT will be offering its cutting-edge services from its BGC research and development center to existing economic zone locators, Philippine national and local government units, and all other commercial establishments in the Philippines and in the Asia-Pacific region.
