The Creamline Cool Smashers grabbed the much-needed bounce-back win over the United Auctioneers Inc-Army, 25-12, 25-18, 23-25, 25-23, last November 12, 2022 during the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) Reinforced Conference.

Several days ago, the Cool Smashers had a bitter night after giving up a 2-0 lead against the F2 Logistics Cargo Movers which also became their first-ever loss in the import-laced conference.

Creamline wasted no time buckling to work and meant straight business after imposing their will in the first set with a double-digit lead.

The Cool Smashers not only executed their set plays well but their balanced attack became the biggest factor when almost all outside hitters waxed hot midway through the second set.

Veteran and national team staple setter Jia Morado-De Guzman had a flawless display of distributing the offense and dished out 24 excellent sets alongside four points.

De Guzman controlled the Cool Smashers’ plays and always knew the tendencies of her opposite spikers waiting in both the left and right areas.

Import Yelo Basa top-scored for Creamline and delivered 18 points built from 16 successful attacks while also helping in the defensive department with two blocks.

Ced Domingo also had a stellar performance and contributed 16 points on 11 successful attacks, three service aces, and two blocks.

Top hitter Jema Galanza continued her consistent outing and chipped in 14 points, 23 excellent receptions, and 11 excellent digs.

The veteran-filled Army squad showed signs of life after stunning the Cool Smashers in the third set but the reigning PVL champs quickly redeemed themselves in the fourth and final set.

“Talagang this conference ‘di mo masasabi kung anong ilalaro mo kasi malaking bagay yung mga imports, talagang nagco-contribute sila every game lalo na sa opensa. Talagang lahat ng imports ngayon mahirap bantayan,” said Cool Smashers head coach Sherwin Meneses.

With the win, the Cool Smashers remained the league’s no. 1 team and will have the chance to improve their record when they face the Choco Mucho Flying Titans on November 17, 2022.
