PSA-Western Visayas celebrate 6th anniversary

THE employees of Philippine Statistics Authority Regional Statistical Services Office (PSA-RSSO)-6 celebrated the agency’s 6th anniversary on September 12, 2019 with the theme “Working Smarter Through Innovation”.

Various activities were conducted to highlight the celebration. The program started with a thanksgiving mass, attended by employees of PSA and officiated by Rev. Father Oscar Andrada.

This was followed by a mangrove planting activity at Katunggan Eco Park of Barangay Nabitasan, Leganes, Iloilo. The activity was headed by PSA-RSSO-6 Officer-in-Charge Marlene Y. Alviar.

Mr. Joseph Espinosa of Katunggan Eco Park Management shared a brief history of the ecopark. He also informed the PSA employees about the importance of mangroves. He also pointed out that 30 hectares of the park have been planted with mangroves.

After the tree planting activity, PSA employees gathered for a short program at PSA RSSO VI Office.

Alviar delivered her inspiring message and discussed the milestone of PSA towards the millennium. She read the message of the National Statistician Claire Dennis S. Mapa on the employees’ commitment to excellence and the challenge of the PSA’s endeavours particularly the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) and the Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS).

The challenge is for the PSA to adapt to the new initiatives by delivering the best quality in all undertakings.

In the same program, several employees received “No Late, No Undertime Award” for the first and second quarter of 2019. The award served as recognition of commitment, loyalty and dedication to the service as PSA employees. The awardees were Daisy Luz, Jean Lito Esapol, Rachel Cabador, Yran Fernandez, Danny Leonor and Eufrosina Propetiado.

During the afternoon session, a personality development or body breathe wellness activity was conducted at the PSA-RSSO-6 office to keep the employees stay fit and healthy.

Zumba and Yoga were enjoyed by the employees to exercise a sound mind and sound body.

To develop the spirit of camaraderie and sportsmanship among PSA employees, a bowling tournament was conducted. Through this activity, employees of PSA enable to unwind and to get along with other employees within and outside their divisions.
