PSA urges firms to give truthful answers in census of industries

THE Philippine Statistics Authority Aklan urged establishments selected as samples for this year’s Census of Philippine Business and Industry in the province to give truthful and reliable information in accomplishing the questionnaire.

CPBI, which started last May 2019 in Aklan, is one of the three national censuses conducted by PSA.

According to Provincial Statistics Officer Antonet Catubuan, giving accurate information to this statistical inquiry is very vital in the production of quality statistics, which will be used in various economic development plans and programs of the government.

“Results of this industry census is beneficial in business community, especially in assessing opportunities for new investments and estimating market shares for their products,” Mrs. Catubuan said.

The survey will cover 306 firms from three broad groups – agriculture, industry, and services.

These firms belong to formal sector of the economy with legal form such as corporations and partnerships, cooperatives and foundations, single proprietorship with branches, and single establishment with employment of 10 or more.

Information sought by the questionnaire includes the number of workers, income, expenses, total assets, capital participation, inventories, among others.

PSA assures respondents that their response will be treated with utmost confidentiality as provided for by law.
