PSA-6 leads 2019 Civil Registration Month Celebration

PSA-6 Director Fred S. Sollesta and Registration Officer IV Mary Grace D. Dorilag encourage the public to register all vital events and explain the importance of such in an interview with Bombo Radyo-Iloilo.

The Philippine Statistics Authority-Regional Statistical Services Office (PSA-RSSO)-6 celebrated the Civil Registration Month with the theme: “Inclusive and Responsive CRVS: Working Smarter through Innovation”.

The month-long celebration included activities like hanging of streamers, radio and television interviews, conduct of information dissemination and distribution of flyers to increase public awareness regarding civil registration and other statistical activities.

PSA-6 Regional Director Fred S. Sollesta and Registration Officer IV Mary Grace D. Dorilag had interviews with Bombo Radyo Iloilo and GMA station, likewise TV appearances in ABS-CBN’s Panay Sikat television program.

Various symposia were held at public offices schools and universities including Philhealth Regional Office 6, Bureau of Jail Management and Penology VI, Iloilo National High School, Saint Paul University, Lapaz National High school and Iloilo Doctors College on February 6, 15, 20, 22 and 28 respectively.

The employees and the graduating students have benefited the information dissemination conducted by PSA. This activity was done to raise awareness about civil registry laws and regulation, especially with regards to the correction of entries in civil registry documents.

RD Fred S. Sollesta and RSSO-6 staff also attended the civil mass wedding and mobile registration activities conducted by Local Government Units (LGU) in celebration of love month of February.

One of the highlights was the culminating activity of PSA RSSO-6 last March 1, 2019 with employees of Local Civil Registrar Office (LCRO) and PSA-6 personnel participating in the Civil Registration and Vital Statistics (CRVS) quiz.

PSA-6 employees also showcased their talents during the poster making and slogan contest expressed their knowledge in the oratorical contest.

Teresa Nadales of PSA Iloilo won first prize in the CRVS Quiz Bee for PSA personnel, Dominador Cabrera of PSA Iloilo in second place and Rodme Febreo of Antique in third place.

Marivel Gargalicana of Iloilo City won first place for LCRO personnel, Mr. Regel Angeles of Libertad, Antique in second place and Ms. Mitchie Urbe of Ibajay, Aklan won third place.

PSA Aklan won the first prize for poster making contest, while the second prize went to PSA Iloilo and third prize to Civil Registration and Administrative Support Division (CRASD).

PSA Iloilo garnered first place in slogan contest, followed by Statistical Operations and Coordination Division (SOCD) in second place and CRASD in third.

Jude Bagaforo of SOCD got the first prize in oratorical contest, while the second and third prizes went to Mary Joy Villegas of PSA Guimaras and Felosen Billones of PSA Capiz, respectively.
