The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) RSSO VI will conduct the January 2022 Labor Force Survey (LFS) and 2021 Family Income and Expenditure Survey (FIES) Visit 2 starting 10 January 2022 in the provinces and highly urbanized cities
of Western Visayas.
The LFS is a nationwide quarterly survey of households conducted by the PSA to gather data on the demographics and socio-economic characteristics of the population.
It provides information as a basis for the formulation of policies and programs on the creation and generation of gainful employment and livelihood opportunities, reduction of employment and underemployment, and enhancement of the welfare of a working person.
The January 2022 LFS kicks-off this year and is a monthly survey for 2022.
The FIES is a survey on family income and expenditure of households. It is the basic source of information for the estimation of the household account in the System of National Accounts and balances; measurement of poverty and Human Development Index (HDI); and levels of living of different sections of the population, and disparities in levels of living across geographical regions and socio-economic groups.
The 2021 FIES Second Visit will interview same households in July 2021, on their income and expenditures for July to December 2021 period.
Western Visayas has a total of 11,769 sample households – 1,516 in Aklan,
1,536 in Antique, 1,554 in Capiz, 1,692 in Iloilo City, 1,534 in Iloilo Province,
1,595 in Bacolod City, 1,575 in Negros Occidental, and 767 in Guimaras.
These households will be enumerated by 416 hired Statistical Researchers, and 15 hired Assistant Focal Persons who underwent intensive training activities.
The personal interviews will be conducted using tablets through the Computer-Assisted Personal Interviewing (CAPI) application.
In connection with this, the PSA RSSO VI is soliciting the public support and cooperation
in the conduct of the said activities. All collected data will be held strictly confidential
in compliance with the Data Privacy Act of 2012.
