PRO-6 inaugurates new regional forensic building

The five-storey standard building of the Regional Forensic Unit (RFU)-6 worth more than P50 million inside Camp Gen Martin Teofilo B Delgado, Iloilo City was inaugurated and blessed on March 3, 2022.

The Philippine National Police Forensic Group (PNPFG), formerly known as the PNP Crime Laboratory, is an office that provides scientific and technical investigative aid and support to the PNP and other investigative agencies.

It also provides crime laboratory examination, evaluation and identification of physical evidence gathered at the crime scene with primary emphasis on medical, biological and physical nature.

The building’s construction started in May 2020 and was completed last January 2022.

No less than Police Lieutenant General Bernabe M. Balba, Area Police Command-Visayas commander, graced the activity as guest of honor and speaker.

Balba said the structure aims to better serve the public.

“I hope this building will become part of your legacy to this institution, through your continuing progress, please serve our Kababayans with emphasis on 3 basic values; Malinis, Magalang at Mabilis,” he added.

“Sa ating mga miembro ng Regional Forensic Unit 6, sa bago at maayos na PNP building na ito, hangad ko ang inyong maayos at maaasahang serbisyo na inyong ipagkakaloob sa ating komunidad at pamayanan, panatilihin niyo itong malinis at may integridad, na handing tumulong ano mang oras sa mga nangangailangan at ako’y naniniwala na sa inyong angking talino sa siyentia at lohika ay malaking tulong para sa mas mabilis at maasahang pagresolba nang mga kaso at agarang hustisya nang ating mga kababayan.” PLTGen Balba added.

Present during the activity were Police Brigadier General Flynn E. Dongbo, PRO-6 director; Police Brigadier General Belli B. Tamayo, PNP Forensic Group Director; Police Colonel Mary Leocyl J. Mag-abo, RFU-6 chief; and the PRO-6 Command Group and Staff.
