PRO-6 hosts the Visayas WCPD gab

FIFTY Women and Children Protection Desk (WCPD) investigators from Regions 6, 7, and 8 attended the WCPD Regional Conference at Grand Xing Imperial Hotel in Iloilo City on Aug 22-23, 2019.

Twenty-five participants were from Police Regional Office 6. Twenty were female investigators assigned to WCPDs while five were males investigators assigned t ogeneral investigation.

General investigation handles all cases except women’s and children’s concern.

The 2-day conference tackled issues and concerns regarding WCPC mandates and strategies, investigators’ best practices which will help strengthen the campaign for the welfare of women and children, and presentation and consultation on the proposed “PNP Investigation Manual on Crimes and Offenses Against Women and Children.”

The activity was in collaboration with Consuelo Foundation, which promotes the wellbeing of at-risk children, women and families in the Philippines and Hawaii, and to prevent and treat their abuse, neglect, and exploitation.

Police Brigadier General William S. Macavinta, chief of the Women and Children Protection Center in Camp Crame, Quezon City attended the conference together with retired Police Brigadier General Yolanda Tanigue, the first woman general of the PNP.
