Prime Minister Boris Johnson of the United Kingdom believes that the return of sports on television would “provide a much-needed boost to national morale.”

Premier League clubs were given some semblance of hope that their season could resume amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

United Kingdom’s government made this possible by creating a “roadmap” regarding the return of sports in England by June.

Discussed under the “roadmap” is UK’s plan to bring back sporting events, where it will be allowed to take place behind closed doors for broadcast while avoiding the risk of large-scale contact.

Beginning June 8, the Premier League is targeting to slowly come back and execute their playing schedule as a formal start of the canceled season.

“We have protocols created and reviewed, we have a testing company appointed, but the important consultation with players and managers is the next step,” said Premier League CEO Richard Masters.
