The PLDT High-Speed Hitters are back in the playoff picture after taking down the Akari Chargers in sweeping fashion, 25-11, 25-21, 25-19, in the ongoing 2022 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) Reinforced Conference last November 10.

After losing four-straight games during the past two weeks, the High-Speed Hitters clinched a much-needed win to improve their record to 2-4.

PLDT is in a tight position where they need to win their next set of games to overtake the Cignal HD Spikers and the F2 Logistics Cargo Movers to clinch a seat in the playoffs.

The High-Speed Hitters will only have two remaining games next week to determine their playoff fate and will be tested once they go up against the HD Spikers on November 15 and the Chery Tiggo Pro Crossovers on November 17.

It was a classic balanced attack from the High-Speed Hitters after overwhelming the Chargers with their consistent offense from the get-go.

Mika Reyes was the star of the night for PLDT after tallying an all-around performance of 15 points, three service aces, and two kill blocks.

The former national team middle blocker immediately imposed her will midway in the first set after scoring on three-straight possessions.

Reyes continued her surging attack in the second set and sent in the early exclamation point after a kill block score that put them up by six points.

Backstopping Reyes is their import Elena Savkina-Samoilenko who registered a team-high 20 points built from 16 successful attacks.

Meanwhile, the Chargers were once again led by their hard-hitting import Prisilla Rivera who was coming off a record-breaking 44-point production.

Rivera did what she could against the towering PLDT middle blockers and chipped in 23 points but no other player reached the double-digit mark in the three-set duration.
