Pinoy sets up title clash with “Thai Mayweather” in Thai World Boxing Council

Marco John Rementizo, a Cagayan de Oro pride, will try to stop the reign of Wanheng “Thai Mayweather” Menayothin in the Thai World Boxing Council’s minimumweight crown.

Holding a staggering 54-0 record in his professional career, Menayothin was immediately tagged as the “Thai Mayweather” after surpassing Floyd’s 50-0 record after he retired from boxing.

Not only does Menayothin hold an astonishing win-loss record but he was also responsible for the defeat of 22 other Pinoys in the tournament.

Rementizo will be the 23rd Pinoy who will have the chance to rust Menayothin’s record and will also seek to avenge his countrymen’s downfall against the Thai.

On the other hand, the Pinoy slugger holds a record of 12 wins, 9 via way of knockout and 3 losses in his career so far.

Rementizo is looking to make history not as the first Filipino to take down the Thai star but as the first-ever to defeat Menayothin.

The most-anticipated bout will be scheduled on April 25, 2020, at Fantasy Springs Resort Casino in Indio, California.
