PHLPost launches national On the Spot Letter Writing tilt

TWENTY-SEVEN (27) students from various parts of the country competed in the  Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost) sponsored National On-The-Spot Letter Writing Competition  to be held at the GSIS – Museo ng Sining in Pasay City on March 08, 2019.

The participating students won the Regional Letter Writing Contest which was organized in partnership with the Department of Education (DepEd) focusing on the theme “Salamat Po Teacher”, the 4A’s of Gratitude: Appreciation, Admiration, Approval, and Attention”.

Aside from cash prizes, the winning composition will represent the Philippines in the Universal Postal Union (UPU) International Letter Writing Competition for Young People in Berne, Switzerland. The Universal Postal Union is a specialized agency of the United Nations consisting of members from 192 countries.

Adopted at UPU’s 1969 Tokyo Congress and officially launched in 1971, the competition brings talented young people together from thousands of schools in dozens of countries.

The competition’s primary goal is to advance global literacy, education and creativity among young people. It enhances the young people’s skills in composition and the ability to express their thoughts clearly.

The winners will be decided based on the criteria set by the Universal Postal Union (UPU) by the panel of judges composed of Ricardo Ador Dionisio, Senior Education Program Specialist, Bureau of Curriculum Dev’t, Curriculum Standard Dev’t Division, Major Maria Lourdes E. Ranario, PA- Co-author Marawi and Beyond and Atty. Nicolas Pichay, Palanca Awardee.
