The PH Men’s volleyball squad punched their semifinals ticket to the 30th Southeast Asian Games Men’s volleyball after annihilating Vietnam in a straight sweep, 25-20, 25-21, 25-12.

The boosting win against Cambodia was carried over as the consistent blocking of PH’s middlemen provided the edge against the Vietnamese.

The defensive tenacity of the PH squad tallied a total of 11 blocks compared to Vietnam’s 1 blocked attack.

The dynamic duo of Bryan Bagunas and Marck Espejo ignited the PH offense, scoring 22 and 13 respectively, leading all PH attackers.

Middle blocker Kim Malabunga served as the anchor on defense, as he, together with team captain Johnvic De Guzman, had touches on most of Vietnam’s attack in their impressive third set.

The PH squad will take on Indonesia today, to determine the top team in the SEAG volleyball men’s pool B.
