PENRO Guimaras celebrates Land Anniversary Day

The proud beneficiaries of the Handog Tutulo program of DENR PENRO Guimaras show off their land titles during the turnover ceremony and celebration of Land Anniversary Day.

TO COMMEMORATE the creation of the Land Management Bureau in accordance with Republic Act 219, the Department of Environment and Natural Resources-Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office (DENR-PENRO) in Guimaras recently celebrated the Land’s Day through Handog Titulo Program.

The Handog Titulo Program was led by PENR Officer Vicente A. Sardina and supervised by the Chief of Technical Services Division Julieta T. Gabayeron

The accomplishments of the Land and Management Section were achieved through the leadership of LMOII Sonia Gemotea as well as the Surveys and Mapping Unit headed by Engr. Geoffrey A. Cauinian.

Sardina said that the Land Management Bureau is under the DENR whose main functions include the management and disposition of lands of the public domain, classified as alienable and disposable lands and are categorized as either residential or agricultural lands.

The Land’s Day celebration was highlighted by the Awarding of Certificates of Land Titles or Free Patents through the Handog Titulo Program.

Eighty-two qualified land beneficiaries received the land title certificates. Fifty-one beneficiaries came from the Municipality of Nueva Valencia, 30 from Sibunag, and 1 from Jordan.

The awarding of land certificates to the respective patentees was distributed by PENRO Sardina with the presence of Atty. Carissa Ann M. Eñano, a representative of Congresswomen Lucille Nava, Governor Samuel T. Gumarin as well as Jordan Mayor Ruben B. Corpuz.

Antonio Segovia, one of the patentees expressed his gratefulness for receiving such land title.

He said that “Land Acquisition and ownership nowadays requires effort and is very expensive.”

He was very thankful that he legally acquired such parcel of land as evidenced by a certificate of land title thru the efforts and help of the DENR.

DENR-6 Regional Executive Director Francisco E. Milla, Jr. congratulated the beneficiaries of Handog Titulo Program.

Milla also underscored that Handog Titulo Program of the agency is a program for social upliftment and a support of a vibrant economy and more responsive government. (DENR-6/PENRO-Guimaras)
