PDEA, cops seize P211K worth of ‘shabu’

BACOLOD City – The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-Negros Occidental and police seized a total of P211,480 worth of suspected shabu from four persons in separate buy-bust operations in the province from Nov. 20 to 21.

Last Sunday, A 39-year-old man was arrested in Barangay 19-A, Victorias City, after police confiscated from him five grams of suspected shabu worth P34,000, a tooter, lighter, and the P500 marked money.

The following day, PDEA-Negros Occidental and Binalbagan Municipal Police Station busted a woman in Barangay Enclaro with the recovery of 16 grams of suspected shabu worth P108,800.

Arrested was 38-year-old Aphrodite Rivera Song who was reported through “Isumbong Mo Sa PDEA!” hotline.

The PDEA hotline is a program platform where the public can send tips via text message and social media to alert the PDEA on illegal drug activities in their localities.

On that same day, an automotive mechanic was apprehended in Barangay 4, Silay City after he allegedly yielded nine grams of suspected shabu worth P61,200, the P1,200 marked money, and a lighter.

Police identified the subject as Ariel Abellar, 41, of Barangay Mambulac.

Also arrested that day in Bago City was a 51-year-old resident of Barangay Taloc.

Police confiscated from him 1.1 grams of suspected shabu worth P7,480, the P500 marked money, a .22 caliber firearm, and five live ammunition.
