The PBA has disallowed re-signing and trading players as well as transacting deals with free-agent players during the ongoing suspension of the season amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
Commissioner Willie Marcial confirmed that he together with the PBA board have decided against the activity during their online meeting last Saturday.
Previously, the board has approved free-agent signings amid the suspension of the league. One of the deals done amid the inactivity of the league was Noy Baclao’s transfer from the Alaska Aces to Meralco Bolts.
Also, the board imposed a rule that all PBA teams will be given a five-day grace period the day the league will get back to action to deal with their player transfers, free-agents, and extension of contracts.
Lastly, it has been decided that players that have expiring contracts will continue to have their player rights amid the suspension of the season.
It was also confirmed by the PBA board that they will decide major adjustments by August regarding the number of conferences to be played this 2020.
