The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Capiz 1st District Engineering Office paved the Dayao-Libas-Culasi roads leading to Culasi Port to boost the province’s economic growth.

The ₱56.2-million concrete road with a total length of 6.7 kilometers is a multi-year project that began in 2020 and is expected to be completed in 2023.

Citing from the report of District Engineer Nonie A. Viyar, Regional Director Nerie D. Bueno said the road project would traverse through Brgy. IV, Brgy. Libas and Brgy. Culasi in Roxas City, Capiz.

“The Dayao-Libas-Culasi road project will serve as an alternate route for cars and passengers traveling from Capiz’s 2nd District to the Culasi sea port. This road improvement will play an important role in the province’s economic growth,” explained RD Bueno.

Furthermore, RD Bueno stressed the significance and advantage that the road paving project would offer to the province of Capiz by providing necessities more accessible to commuters.

“This project will also benefit the residents of Capiz by boosting their tourism industry, improving delivery of products and services, and reducing transportation expenses,” RD Bueno stated. (DPWH-6)
