BACOLOD City – Senator Emmanuel “Manny” Pacquiao said on Thursday that he is not interested in seeking higher office in the 2022 Philippine presidential and vice presidential elections.

Pacquiao also denied rumors that he is running for Vice President or President.

He explained that he regretted joining politics after discovering the problems and controversies of the country.

Pacquiao said the people should really know what is the “true” problem and situation of the problem.

The senator has also expressed his dismay over the graft and corruption he discovered from within.

Earlier in 2017, President Rodrigo Duterte said he wants Pacquiao to succeed him.

Following his bout with Adrien Broner back in January, Pacquiao also said that he has no plans in running for president, adding he is happy serving the people as a senator.

Pacquiao, who was with Mayor Evelio Leonardia and Congressman Greg Gasataya, was met by hundreds of city employees and residents who flocked to the BGC upon hearing  Pacquiao’ visit to the city today.

Pacquiao distributed to the crowd a minimum of P1,000 each while also adding cash if he sees it is needed.
