P473,516 worth of drugs seized, 14 arrested

BACOLOD City – The anti-drug war of the police continues with the arrest of 14 persons and recovery of P473, 516 worth of illegal drugs here and in Negros Occidental in the past five days.
On July 23, Joyce Delagent, 23, and  Joemary Jardeliz, 32, both residents of Barangay 10 here were arrested in a buy-bust at the said village.

The suspects yielded 40 grams of suspected shabu worth P272,000, the P1,000 marked money, a weighing scale, and P600. They are detained at Police Station 2.

Three days later, Ma. Caryl Montoyo, 28, of Barangay Villamonte here was collared at Barangay 19 after she was allegedly caught violating the curfew, and creating alarm and scandal at the said area past 11 p.m. Police also recovered from her four sachets of suspected shabu and a lighter placed inside a brown envelope.

In the province, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-Negros Occidental dismantled an alleged drug den at Barangay 6, San Carlos City last Sunday, which resulted in the apprehension of Danilo More, Criz Jean Fernandez, Wilmar Talledo, Joseph Abordo and Christian Zapanta.

PDEA agents seized from them 16 grams of suspected shabu worth P108,800, buy-bust money, improvised tooters, improvised scoops, and foils among others.

Also arrested at the said barangay were John Silva, 29, and Jason Jakosalem, 24, for alleged possession of two grams of suspected shabu worth P13,600, the P500 marked money, and drug paraphernalia.

Police also recovered from Silva a .9mm revolver and five live ammunition.

In Silay City, Jeffrey Barnuevo, 53, of Barangay Rizal was collared in a drug bust at Barangay 1 yesterday, after he allegedly yielded eight grams of suspected shabu worth P54,400, P3,000 boodle money, the P500 marked money, and a motorcycle.

Over the weekend, Charlie Delovio, 55, of Barangay Zone 14, Talisay City was arrested in a buy-bust at the said village last Sunday. Police confiscated from him three grams of suspected shabu worth P20,400, the P500 marked money, and P900.

Last Sunday, Andre Zernan Sampane, 38, of Barangay Dulao was arrested in the said barangay, which resulted in the seizure of five sachets of suspected shabu worth P3,500, the P500 marked money, an improvised tooter, lighter, a .45 caliber pistol loaded with magazine, eight live ammunition, an empty cartridge case, and P300.

In Toboso town, Nestor Hosalla Jr., 29, of Barangay San Jose was arrested in a drug bust at the said barangay on the same day. Authorities recovered from him six sachets of suspected shabu worth P816, and the P500 marked money.
