BACOLOD City – An alleged drug courier was arrested following the seizure of 506 grams of suspected shabu worth P3,440,800 from his possession in a buy-bust operation at Purok Kapawa, Barangay Tangub here yesterday.

The subject was identified as Sean Navarro, 26, of Barangay Mansilingan here.

Police Captain Joven Mogato, head of the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU), said Navarro is a “newly-identified drug individual” and can be considered a high-value individual because of the huge volume of suspected drugs recovered from him.

Also confiscated from him were the P3,000 marked money and a motorcycle allegedly used in the transaction.

Mogato said that they received information that the suspect has been allegedly tasked to deliver or dispose of the illegal drugs here. This prompted them to conduct a two-week monitoring, he added.

The illegal drugs were believed to have been repacked when they busted the suspect.

Mogato said they will check if the suspect has links with a drug group because of the huge recovery.

Navarro is detained at Police Station 8.

The operation happened four days after an elderly woman and her 22-year-old granddaughter were busted with 85 grams of suspected shabu worth P578,000 in a drug bust at Purok Sigay, Barangay 2 here on March 25.

In a statement, Police Brigadier General Leo Francisco, director of Police Regional Office (PRO)-6, commended the huge accomplishment of the operatives on the ground.

“Ang tuloy-tuloy na malalaking tagumpay ng ating mga kapulisan laban sa illegal na droga ay patunay na hindi po tayo natutulog. Ginagawa po natin ang lahat para sa mga darating na araw ay tuluyan na nating makamit ang hinahangad nating kapayapaan at kaunlaran ng bayan. Tulong-tulong po tayo para sa ating tagumpay,” he added.
