BACOLOD City – A 22-year-old man was arrested for alleged possession of P190,400 worth of suspected shabu in a buy-bust at Purok Kahirup B, Cottage road, Barangay Mansilingan here last Tuesday.

Arrested was Jason Frank Esquite, 22, of the said village.

Police Lieutenant Joeven Mogato, head of City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU), said Esquite is an alleged newly identified drug personality.

Police seized from the suspect 10 sachets of suspected shabu weighing 28 grams, and the P500 marked money.

Mogato said that Esquite allegedly repacks the contraband and sells it to his clients.

Esquite provided police with information on his source, but they refused to divulge it pending the investigation.

Mogato also said that Esquite was jailed in 2017 after he got involved in a rumble.

“Pero daw subong lang siya nag intra-intra baligya (drugs),” he added.

Esquite will be charged for sale and illegal possession of dangerous drugs, according to Mogato.

The suspect, who is detained at Police Station 7, has yet to be reached for comment.
