P116K lost to Roxas City robbery

ROXAS CITY, Capiz – Some P116,000 worth of jewelry, gadget and cash were carted away by two unidentified suspects early Wednesday morning from a house at Puente Acuña subdivision, Barangay Dayao here.

According to Nene (not her real name), 35, she was awakened around 3 a.m. when an unidentified man went inside her room on the second floor of their house.

The suspect then pointed a sharp object to her neck and warned her not to shout.

A nurse in a private hospital here, Nene said she was hogtied by the suspect with the use of a charger cord.

She said another suspect went to the room of her 66-year-old mother then hogtied and took her to the ground floor where she was forced to pinpoint the location of their jewelries.

Among the items the suspects took were an iPad worth P40,000; 4 pieces of necklace worth P48,000; 2 pieces of coin pulse worth P21,000; 2 pairs of earrings worth P5,700; and P2,900 cash.

The two victims remained hogtied when the suspects fled.

Police investigation indicated that the suspects entered the house through the window of the second floor.

Police recovered two pairs of slippers believed to be owned by the suspects.

Investigators managed to trace the stolen iPad to Panay town through GPS. The gadget stopped at the public market, but the authorities failed to catch them.
