P102,840 worth of ‘illegal drugs’ seized

BACOLOD City – Three persons were arrested while P102,840 worth of illegal drugs were seized in separate buy-bust operations here in the past two days.

On July 19, Giovannie Agdana, 51, of Barangay Banago was arrested in the said village after police confiscated 2.3 grams of suspected shabu worth P15,640, and the P200 marked money. He is detained at Police Station 3.

On the same day, Melvin Emolaga, 28, of Barangay 2 was apprehended in the said village after he allegedly yielded four grams of suspected shabu worth P27,200, and the P500 marked money.

Early the following day, Elmark Sonido, 20, of Barangay 2, was arrested in the village for the recovery of 500 grams of suspected marijuana worth P60,000, and the P200 marked money.

Police Captain Paul Vincent Pendon, head of Police Station 2, said the operation was conducted after they received information about the big volume of suspected marijuana allegedly being sold in the barangay. “Indi man dugay amon monitoring sa iya,” he added.

Pendon said that Sonido has no job and would usually tag along with his group of friends.

“Ga tambay man lang siya upod barkada niya, kung ano isugo sa iya gihuon niya man siguro asta makapaminsar magtulod,” he added.

Pendon said they already have a lead on the source of the illegal drugs, but he refused to divulge more details, pending their follow-up operation.
