BACOLOD City – The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) will construct a new building and a radar station at Bacolod Real Estate Development Corp. (Bredco) port here, soon.
Commander Ludovico Librilla Jr.,  newly-assigned deputy commander of Headquarters PCG District Southern Visayas based in Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental, said the construction will cost about P10 million.
It will be funded by the national headquarters, Librilla added.
Librilla said the radar station will help the Coast Guard monitor vessels and boats entering and exiting the city.

It is part of our security measures for the safety of the passengers as well, he added.
Meanwhile, Librilla, who was promoted to a higher rank, was replaced by Lieutenant Rockcliff Buling as officer-in-charge of PCG in Bacolod and Negros Occidental effective May 30.

Buling was assigned as station commander of PCG in Siquijor before his reassignment here.
Librilla is also the acting station commander of PCG in Dumaguete City. He served Bacolod and Negros Occidental for more than nine months.
The turnover ceremony was held at PCG-Dumaguete office last week.
