P1.3-M worth of ‘shabu’ seized in 4 drug busts

BACOLOD City – A total of P1,375,000 worth of suspected shabu was seized in four separate buy-bust operations in Negros island from November 11 to 12.

In Negros Oriental, Regi Calugcugan of Barangay East Balabag, Valencia town was arrested at Barangay Batinguel, Dumaguete City on Tuesday night, for the recovery of P1,020,000 worth of suspected shabu.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Wilfredo Alarcon, city police chief, said the suspect is a provincial level high value target.

Police recovered from the suspect 11 sachets of suspected shabu weighing 150 grams, the P1,000 marked money, P1,200 cash, and drug paraphernalia.

In Negros Occidental, Richard Valenzuela, 40, of Barangay Mambulac, Silay City was arrested at the said village last Tuesday after yielding nine sachets of suspected shabu worth P120,000, drug paraphernalia, and the P1,000 marked money.

In Bacolod, Jenny Rose Jimena, and Jared Ascura were arrested at Barangay 2 that day after police seized from them seven sachets of suspected shabu worth P35,000, and the P500 marked money.

Both suspects are detained at Police Station 8.

Also arrested at Barangay Mansilingan here were Mark Justin Espino, 23, of the said village, and Jim Morrisson Solis, 27, of Barangay Alijis, after police recovered from them eight sachets of suspected shabu worth P200,000, the P500 marked money, and drug paraphernalia.

The two suspects are detained at Police Station 7.
