Promise fulfilled.

Sixteen former rebels from different municipalities of Capiz received financial assistance after leaving the New People’s Army (NPA).

The release of the Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP) grant to the 16 former rebels was done on Sept 5, 2022 at the DRR Building in Barangay Lanot, Roxaz City.

E-CLIP is a government program that aims to help the rebel members of CPP-NPA-NDF and Militia ng Bayan to restore their allegiance to the Philippine government.

Vice Governor Jaime Magbanua of Capiz and John Ace Azarcon, Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) – Capiz director led the turnover.

A total of P1.040 million in E-CLIP assistance was distributed to help rebel returnees as they reintegrate back into the community.

Brigadier General Marion Sison, Philippine Army’s 301st Infantry Brigade commander, said the financial assistance could also help the former rebels in starting a normal life.

“Our government offers many opportunities to help you become independent and responsible individuals. We hope that all the assistance provided by the government will be your instrument in renewing and starting positive lives,” he said.
