Police in Western Visayas received a high satisfaction rating for their performance in 2022, according to a web-based online survey conducted by the Police Regional Office (PRO)-6’s Regional Community Affairs and Development Division (RCADD).
PRO-6 scored almost similar results in the surveys conducted for the 1st and second semesters of 2022.
Major Mary Grace Borio, PRO-6 spokesperson, said that for the second-semester survey, PRO-6 got an average rating of 4.772 out of 5 based on five measured parameters.
The highest rating was on Respect Index at 4.82 while Safety Index was rated at 4.78; Trust Index at 4.78, Impact of Police-Community Initiated Activities at 4.74, and Effectiveness of Information Operation Activities at 4.74.
The second-semester online survey had 22,794 respondents with ages ranging from 10 to 60 years old and above and coming from different sex, educational attainment, employment, and status in life.
Borio said that they are elated that they have surpassed the rating of a similar survey conducted in 2016 wherein PRO-6 only got a satisfactory rating.
“It only goes to show that all the plans, programs, operations, initiatives, and other activities of the PNP in the region were effective and felt by the community,” she said.
Borio said that PRO-6 is confident that it will gain the same response this year.
But this time around, PRO-6 plans to commission a third-party survey entity in a bid to affirm the results and to continuously monitor the “Very Satisfied” community response towards the police in Western Visayas.
Meanwhile, Brigadier General Leo Francisco, Western Visayas police chief, said that survey results should serve as an inspiration for PRO-6 personnel to even work harder.
“We have to give back to the community for the trust and confidence they have given us,” he said.
The region’s top cop also assured that they would abide by their mission to always protect and serve the people.
