A woman who was implicated in gun-for-hire activities in Metro Manila was arrested afternoon of May 24, 2020 in Balasan, Iloilo.

Angeline Serabia, 44, of Barangay Fairview, Quezon City, was collared at her boarding house in Purok 1, Barangay Camambugan, Balasan.

Joint elements of the Provincial Anti-Crime Task Group (PRO-ACT)-Capiz, Maayon Police Station, the Capiz Provincial Mobile Force Company, and Balasan Police Station traced Serabia based on information relayed by the National Capital Region Police Office-Regional Intelligence Division (RID).

Records indicated that Serabia is ranked No. 7 in the NCRPO-RID’s list of most wanted persons.

She was arrested under an arrest warrant for murder in Criminal Case No. R-QCN-17-04733 issued by Judge Maria Luisa Leslie Gonzales of the NCR-Regional Trial Court Branch 225 in Quezon City.

Police Colonel Julio Gustilo, Capiz police chief, said the suspect’s co-accused is her husband Marlon Serabia.

The murder charge was filed in 2017 but Marlon was arrested in CARAGA Region last year.

Gustilo said they are still establishing why Serabia chose to hide in Iloilo until she was collared on Sunday.

But before her arrest, she was monitored in Dumangas, Iloilo.

“She might have felt that she was placed under surveillance. She attempted to go to Negros Occidental through Ro-Ro but no sea travel was still allowed,” Gustilo said.

Serabia was forced to go back to her boarding house where she was later arrested

The suspect and her husband were allegedly linked to the killing of a barangay chairman and a law enforcer in Manila.

“But we have yet to know if they were criminally charged over such allegations,” Gustilo said.

Serabia was brought to Roxas City for booking purposes but will be returned to Balasan Police Station where she will be jailed.

NCRPO officers are expected to fetch and bring her back to Metro Manila.
