Unmindful of the heavy rains, hoopers from the OJNA/IYB Mobile Bar Crocodiles and JKG/CTG Commercial squad went all out for playoff contention.

The young guns from the OJNA Crocs outran the veteran JKG/CTG team, 70-65, in the JB Amateur Basketball League Elite Division Season 1.

It was a fast-paced game as both teams’ game plan was to run every time they grabbed the leather and to draw as many fouls as they can.

Not backing down from the speed and lateral quickness of OJNA, JKG/CTG equalized the energy the crocs had by patient defense underneath and well-orchestrated fast-break decisions.

The game went back-and-forth the whole game until the breaks of the game went OJNA’s way, scoring timely baskets and providing good seals underneath to secure crucial rebounds.

Jayjay Guanzon and Paul Matta were unstoppable for OJNA as both sank clutch shots and provided runs for their team.

Clint Mesias and Boyet Lastimoso tried to inch JKG/CTG back but they just lacked the gas and the firepower to halt the surging youngsters of OJNA.

Matta won the best player of the game honors, chalking up 19 huge points and 7 rebounds.
