Finally, basketball is back in Roxas City, Capiz.

After almost two years, the first organized basketball league in the city of Roxas will kick-off this Saturday, January 8, 2022, brought to you by On D’ Move (ODM) Sportswear with the initiative to bring back contact sports under the minimum health and safety protocols of areas under COVID-19 Alert Level 2.

Following Iloilo City and other Region VI areas allowing the return of contact sports, ODM Sportswear’s owner and also the founder of the ODM Sports League that organized Roxas City’s pre-Sinadya Inter-Commercial Basketball tournament three years ago, Jeremiah Obera, thought this was also the best time for Roxas City’s resurgence to the game that everybody loves.

Six teams have officially confirmed their participation in the 2022 ODM Sports League Invitational Cup to be held at the IIC Court, Brgy, Tiza, Roxas.

Team TJ Cares, formerly team TJ Cong. owned by Congressman Tawi Billones and the champions during ODM’s 2019 pre-Sinadya Cup, will once again join the tournament led by Finals MVP Dan Arches.

Meanwhile, Team Rookie Elite owned by Engr. Ed Agana, Team DADIVAS PANIT-AN owned by Jun Dadivas, Team Lakwatseros managed by Bebe Deocampo, Team MAMBUSAO FITNESS GYM owned by Raena Ticar, and Team PANAY owned by Sam Carillo and Lloyd Herrera will also seek to dethrone the former ODM champions.

The ODM Sports league through their owner Mr. Obera would also like to thank their partners: Vincent Apelado of Modern88 Marketing Solution Co., Tanduay Athletics, and Wilson as the tournament’s official game ball.

“We hope nga thru this league maopen man iba nga opportunities sa other basketball organizers diri sa Capiz. Kay para man ini sa entertainment sang tanan sa tunga sang pandemic. Pero before we kick-off, we still remind everyone to observe the health and safety protocols para smooth ang tanan,” said Mr. Obera in an exclusive interview with the Daily Guardian.
