For the first time in five years of basketball organizing, the Capiz-based On D’ Move (ODM) Sports League is ready to take its popularity on the road.

ODM Sports League’s Under-21 Inter-Town Discovery Cup will be visiting the municipality of Dumarao from March 4-5 and will mark its first-ever regular season game outside Roxas City.

Everything was made possible through the efforts of commissioner Jeremiah Obera in cooperation with the Dumarao Local Government Unit (LGU).

After days of meeting and discussion, Obera’s proposal was approved by municipal Mayor Matt Hachuela who welcomed ODM Sports League with open arms in their newly-renovated Dumarao gym.

Aside from Mayor Hachuela, Obera would also like to thank the support of Dumarao’s Municipal Accountant Khint Silubrico, coach Boy Paclibar, and coordinator Erwin PJ Cosin.

“This will be one for the books. For the first time after sang pila ta ka liga from the 2019 Sinadya Cup, ODM Sports League will be visiting the Municipality of Dumarao for our first-ever road game schedule,” said commissioner Obera in an exclusive interview with the Daily Guardian.

The ODM Inter-Town Discovery League will be treating Dumarao with 10 action-packed games from Saturday-Sunday.

Sigma against Mambusao will kick off the weekend festivities while the U-21 Dumarao team will play in the main event against President Roxas.

Cuartero versus Sigma will be opening the last road game schedule on March 5 while Dumarao will again suit up in the last game against Mambusao.

“I would like to thank the full support of the Municipality of Dumarao for allowing ODM Sports League to hold this event. Lipay man kami nga mapasadya ang mga taga Dumarao and nearby municipalities in two days,” added Obera.

Dumarao will look to impress in front of their home fans and improve their 1-2 win-loss record to secure a playoff spot.

Meanwhile, MBM Elite and Pontevedra are the only undefeated teams in the ongoing tournament and are hoping to extend their streak for an automatic post-season berth.
