After two years, the On D’ Move (ODM) Sports League’s Sinadya Cup open basketball league is returning with a bang and more surprises.

Delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Capiz’s biggest open hoops league is set to take Western Visayas by storm in this year’s opening of ODM’s Monster division and will begin today at the Capiz Gymnasium.

ODM set this year’s Sinadya Cup with a “#NoHoldsBarred” Monster division where teams are free to choose their players and imports.

ODM Sports League commissioner and founder Jeremiah Obera confirmed to the Daily Guardian that four players from the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) will be suiting up for two participating teams.

Edward Dixon, a former player of the Muntinlupa Cagers, will be teaming up with Batangas’ John Rey Villanueva and Allstar Bacolod’s Kenneth Tulipas at team MBM Construction.

Meanwhile, Jeckster Apinan, another MPBL player from Batangas, will be rendering his services to the Eigon Elite hoops squad.

Aside from the MBPL players flying to Roxas City, Obera also added that several teams will be fielding American imports.

“Masadya ini. I warmly welcome all participating teams who made huge efforts forming such competitive teams. Ang iban may MPBL players and foreign imports. Nakibot man ako sa growth sang league. Let’s make this fun and hopefully not a single player ang ma injury. For the love of the game,” Obera said in an exclusive interview with the Daily Guardian.

Nine teams will be vying for the coveted ODM Sinadya Cup championship title with three coming from Iloilo City.

Iloilo teams traveling to Roxas are the CPU Golden Lions, Leprechauns X Tune Squad, and the Department of Public Works and Highways (DWPH) Iloilo 2nd Deo.

Completing the list of the teams are team Corg Chi, Ivisan Marinic, Dolce Via, Eigon Elite, Phat Ass, and MBM Construction.
