Odette rehab, recovery plan ok’d

BACOLOD City – The Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (PDRRMC) approved the Comprehensive Rehabilitation and Recovery Plan of Typhoon Odette in a meeting presided by Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson held at the Capitol Social Hall Wednesday morning.

The council also approved the realignment of 2021 PDRRMF Special Trust Fund for the repairs of Negros Food Terminal Market, Guintubdan Bridge in Isabela, Agboy Bridge in Candoni, Merceditas Montilla District Hospital in Sipalay, Teresita Jalandoni Provincial Hospital in Silay, and Lorenzo Zayco Memorial District Hospital in Kabankalan, which were all damaged by the typhoon.

Present in the meeting were Board Members Rita Gatuslao and Samson Mirhan, DILG Negros Occ. Provincial Director Roselyn Quintana, Provincial Administrator Atty. Rayfrando Diaz, Provincial Planning and Development Office OIC and PDRRMC Secretariat Head, Anna Marie Lucasan, and PDRRMO Head Dr. Zeaphard Caelian, among others.

Meanwhile a total of 7,234 residents of Kabankalan City, who were victims of Typhoon Odette, received financial assistance worth P5,000 each under the NHA Special Emergency Housing Assistance Program early this week.

On Tuesday a total of P1.4 million were distributed to 291 residents of the cities of Cadiz and Victorias who were victims of Typhoon Odette. Each beneficiary under the NHA Special Emergency Housing Assistance Program received P5,000 each.

Lacson led the separate distribution of financial assistance at Cadiz City Arena and Victorias City Coliseum in the presence of 2nd District Board Member Samson Mirhan, Cadiz City Mayor Salvador Escalante, Jr., and Provincial Social Welfare Office OIC Merle Garcia.

This included the financial assistance to the beneficiaries of NHA Special Emergency Housing Assistance Program in the cities of Cadiz and Victorias, and Pontevedra town.

A total of P4,950,000 were distributed to the three LGUs.

Lacson and Pontevedra Mayor Jose Maria Alonso led the distribution of NHA Special Emergency Housing Assistance Program worth P5,000 to each of the 699 beneficiaries from the different barangays of the town.

The distribution was held at Pontevedra Municipal Gym, facilitated by the PSWDO and NHA representatives.
