NPC holds Garciniego-Doble Memorial bowling cup

BACOLOD City – The Negros Press Club (NPC) held its annual bowling fellowship games at Negros Super Lanes in Goldenfield Commercial Complex in Bacolod City Saturday, August 10.

This year’s game was held in commemoration of the active involvement in sports of NPC officer and member Hernand Garciniego and Henry Doble, respectively, who both passed away last month.

Both were sports writers and actively participated in the sports activities of the club.

NPC president Chrysee Samillano said the activity was also aimed at establishing camaraderie with fellow colleagues in the media industry.

Five teams composed of five to six members from different media outlets competed against each other during the bowling tournament.

Red team composed of Renato Duran, Buddy Ferrer, Bing Trecho, Arman Toga, and Glazyl Masculino was hailed as this year’s champion. The group received P5,000 cash prize.

Blue team composed of Edmund Aspero, Jun Gaton, Martian Muyco, Jefferson Lucasan, James Toga, and Nida Buenafe, and Green team composed of Manny Canto, Rey Alejandrino, Dolores Miranda, Fred Salanga, and Nanette Guadalquiver got the second and third place, respectively. The two teams received P4,000 and P3,000 cash prize, respectively.

Consolation prizes of P2,000 each were given to White team composed of Grace Supe, John Dale Salazar, Erwin Nicavera, Henceboy Cestina, and Shiela Gelera, and Violet team composed of Raquel Gariando, Rey Siason, Mark Salanga, Merlinda Pedrosa, and Samillano.

Individual awards were also given to Miranda, Samillano, Duran, Trecho, and James Toga. They received P500 cash prize each.

The awarding of winners was held during a dinner at Chicken Alley restaurant.
